CranioSacral Therapy
THE "INTERNAL TIDE" OF YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

Logo for Upledger Institute International

Did you know your brain and spine have their own rhythm?

Beyond your heartbeat and breath, your body has a subtle internal tide—known as the craniosacral rhythm. It’s a gentle wave of fluid that surrounds and nourishes your brain and spinal cord, expanding and contracting about 6 to 12 times per minute.

Think of it like a slow-moving ocean tide. When everything is open and flowing, your nervous system feels calm and supported. But when there are areas of tension or restriction, it’s like a sandbar forming—the movement becomes limited, and things don’t flow as easily.

Through light, attentive touch, I “listen” to this rhythm with my hands. It gives me a map of where your body is holding stress, and where it’s ready to release
